Employees’ spirits quickly deteriorates after their first six months and continues to degenerate for the time to come. This fact is true to almost 85 per cent of companies, says a survey undertaken by Sirota Survey Intelligence. Of course to tackle the situation companies should not emphasize on motivating their employees instead they must work to stop de-motivating them.
The root of the problem can be traced at the management level. This situation exposes the shortcomings of their policies and procedures that they follow to manage their workforce and in the relationships that managers maintain with their sub-ordinates. However, the research hold the view that this awkward situation arises due the managers inability to maintain a harmonious relationship at work place due to their inadequate behavior and style.
Management must work towards maintaining the enthusiasm of their employees at the work place to extract maximum out of them. It has been recommended that to achieve this feat the managers are required to meet three goals. Like all employees should be treated almost equally in terms of pay benefits and job security. Recognize one’s job and accomplishment. Open communication and interaction with fellow employees are quite helpful to strike productive relationships.
